A well made thriller in the style of Hammer's Die! Die! My Darling! (1965).
After the death of her husband Matthew in Vietnam, a pregnant Francesca Kinsolving (Duke) travels to wintry Minnesota to visit her mother-in-law Mrs. Kinsolving (Murphy) in hopes of establishing a bond with her extended family.
Instead, Francesca finds herself snowbound with the malicious woman (who may or may not be her true mother-in-law) and scrambling to protect herself and her baby.
Meanwhile, Matthew's jittery sister Kathleen (Allen) seems intent on trying to warn Francesca about something. What could it be?
Good performances from both Duke and Murphy, with a claustrophobic atmosphere intensified by the isolated setting, make You'll Like My Mother a decent watch.
