This gothic Mexican horror is a harmless diversion.
Hateful husband Dr. Eduardo Ramos (Calvo) murders his poor wife Elena (de Marco) so that he can begin life anew with his true love Deborah (Arenas).
But it ain't over yet. Aided by her devil-worshipping godmother Sara (Corona), Elena rises from the grave - and the two witches get down to the business of revenge.
After they manage to disfigure Deborah in a terrible fire, Ramos tries to restore her beauty via skin transplants from stolen corpses...but unbeknownst to the now mad doctor, this is all part of Sara and Elena's diabolical plans for retribution.
Good midnight viewing, this south-of-the-border terror hijacks a bit of 1959's excellent Eyes Without a Face and here the witch/supernatural angle occasionally suffers for it.
Still, it's all in the name of fun, and worth seeing for Calvo's descent into Frankenstein territory as well as Corona's spirited witch performance.
