| Anthology comprised of three horror tales based on Nathaniel Hawthorne stories.
Price leads in each segment, most effectively the enchanting Dr. Heidegger's Experiment, a yarn about a water-based elixir that restores youth to two old friends and resurrects their lost love - then destroys them all!
Others include The House of the Seven Gables which revolves around an age-old family curse and Rappacini's Daughter about a reclusive scientist who 'poisons' his daughter to keep her alive...and pure.
 Well done overall.
But whatever you do, just don't touch that funky purple plant!
Director Salkow would co-helm Vincent Price in another notable horror the following year: the spectacular zombie sci fi horror The Last Man on Earth (1964).
