Arguable documentary with Allen and Pleasance in a mock cinema taking us through the history of terror films.
Film tries hard, but is too meandering and unfocused to do subject matter justice.
Much attention is lavished on Hitchcock and various greatest hits from the 60s through the early 80s. But other major movements in horror are poorly represented or neglected (mostly in favor of various crime dramas - some good, some bad).
Best viewed for the footage itself, rather than as a "comprehensive" documentary.
