Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 (1987)
88 min.
Directed by Lee Harry.
With Eric Freeman, James L. Newman, Elizabeth Kaitan, Jean Miller, Nadya Wynd, Joanne White.
Pathetic and limp sequel to the 1984 original.

Billy's brother Ricky (Freeman) goes psychotic and picks up where his sibling left off: slicing and dicing unsuspecting victims.

An inordinate amount of "flashbacks" serve only to pad this beast out...And we DO mean "inordinate" and "padded" - surely even braindead drunks must take some offense at the blatant manipulation of the running time here.

Freeman is particularly annoying, choosing to play Ricky completely over the top and little realizing that only Bette Davis and Jack Nicholson could get away with such rubber-faced grimacing.

Mother Superior resurfaces in this second outing, only this time she's played by a different actress heavily latexed in disfiguring makeup. Go figure.

Did we mention this is bad?

Followed by Silent Night, Deadly Night III: Better Watch Out! (1989).

Still not Christmased out? There would be two more sequels, including Initiation: Silent Night, Deadly Night 4 (1990), and Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker (1991).
