Night of the Creeps (1986)
88 min.
Directed by Fred Dekker.
With Jason Lively, Steve Marshall, Jill Whitlow, Tom Atkins, Wally Taylor, Bruce Solomon, Vic Polizos.
Okay zombie horror/science fiction spoof.

In 1959, sluglike alien lifeforms land on Earth intent on wiping out mankind by burrowing into human brains, planting their eggs and then imploding their host's head.

Thankfully, the threat can be contained via cryogenics...that is until 1986 when a dumbass fraternity prank inadvertently unthaws the fast spreading threat!

Woe be to the helpless younguns...the deadly slime is back on the prowl.

This disposable silliness is good natured fun, thanks to a likable performance from lead Lively and his pal Marshall.

It's little wonder why Creeps is (generally) so overrated as a cult fave: the broad humor, sub-jarhead one liners and over-the-top action (relatively new in the mid '80s) would echo the tone of horror for the next two decades.

Best scene: Marshall trapped in the bathroom stall surrounded by the vicious life suckers.

Also known as Homecoming Night.
