An exceptional giallo from director Tonino Valerii.
After a savage decapitation ultimately re-opens a child kidnapping/double murder case, Inspector Luca Peretti (the perenially reliable George Hilton) begins to unravel a complicated tangle of family lies and deception.
But soon there's a rapid-fire string of new murders. It would seem the black-gloved killer wants to seal his dirty little secret forever.
Can Peretti unravel the clues fast enough, before more bodies begin piling up?
The solid, poignant plot is held together well by good performances and some nasty offings, most notably a memorably gruesome hacking by circular saw.
Another beautiful, haunting score from Ennio Morricone.
Italian: Mio caro assassino.
