An entertaining camp slasher.

Legend has it that a hulking brute killer named Madman Marz brutally murdered his family, and then took to the backwoods...where he still roams to this very day.

A group of camp counselors ply their craft, telling the legend of Marz around the campfires for your usual nighttime entertainment.

But when the hubristic younguns call out the name of Marz in a show of brazen defiance, well, let's just say they're going to wish they hadn't.

They discover all too soon the menacing psycho has returned - as he begins to off his unsuspecting prey one by one!

Buoyed by a cast of perky and believably common looking players, Madman has its fair share of decent murder sequences and suspense zings, including an ill fated attempt by one of the victims to hide in a refrigerator (don't ask).

Not without its flaws and clearly owes more than a passing debt to the success of Friday the 13th, but in all honesty this enjoyable splatter romp still has enough spunk to hold its own in slasherdom's hallowed halls.

Also known as either Madman Marz or Campfire Tales.
