This sub par slasher (starring Joe Spinell of Maniac fame) starts off well but eventually meanders about without much intent or thoughtful pacing.
The story concerns fanatic - and hopeless loser - Vinny Durand (Spinell) who stalks lovely horror star Jana Bates (Munro) at the Cannes Film Festival (where most of this was shot) in hopes of getting her to star in his first feature production.
Meanwhile, as those nearest and dearest to Jana begin to meet their untimely ends at the hands of an unseen killer, the question becomes: is Vinny more psycho murderer than stalker fan?
Horror regular Munro (1972's Dracula A.D. 1972, 1986's Slaughter High) is amusing at times as scream queen Jana, but this one collapses under the weight of its confusion.
The blatantly obvious killer turning out to be a red herring also provides little satisfaction.
Also known as Fanatic.
On basically equal footing with 1986's Killer Workout, executive produced by director Winters here.
