Overrated, overly whimsical (for a horror film) story about a young boy who sees the ghost of a murdered girl while locked in a school closet.
He then becomes prey to the killer, who was never caught.
Good performance by Lukas Haas as the boy, but undercut by too much kiddy humor and a subplot about race relations which tries to recall To Kill a Mockingbird.
That said, Lady in White was critically acclaimed at the time of its release and remains a rather popular favorite today. We just can't figure out why.
Producer-director LaLoggia also gave us the Satan-inspired horror Fear No Evil (1981).
