One of the many Baby Jane-inspired projects which starred an aging actress, this one is pretty good.
James Caan is appropriately menacing as the lead thug in his film debut.
An atmosphere of grimy violation makes Cage work as a suspense vehicle, heightening the action and emphasizing the performances of the genuinely good cast.
De Havilland delivers a solid performance, both in the action setups as well as the intriguing subplot with her son.
Director Grauman here also helmed the excellent 1970 TV horror Crowhaven Farm.
