From the director of such diverse fare as Castle of Blood (1964) and Cannibal Apocalypse (1980) comes this biting nature tale starring an outrageously delirious cast.
The story: a load of precious gems lie at the bottom of a lake, ready for the simple act of taking. But when divers attempt to snatch the booty, they find hordes of ravenous pirahna have vowed to defend the lovely stones...to the death!
While never managing to build to a satisfiable level of frenzy, still...this guilty pleasure must be seen to be appreciated.
Features a truly all star cast (including Black, Six Million Dollar Man Majors and Franciscus (from Argento's giallo Cat O'Nine Tails et al) among others.
Is 1978's Pirahna from Joe Dante any better? Yeah, but go for this one anyway.
Also known as Deadly Treasure of the Piranha.
Italian title: Killer fish agguato sul fondo.
