The House That Dripped Blood (1971)
97 min.
Directed by Peter Duffell.
With Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Ingrid Pitt, Jon Pertwee, Denholm Elliott, Nyree Dawn Porter, Tom Adams, Joanna Dunham, Chloe Franks, John Bennett.
The best of the Amicus anthologies, this one features four stories.

The first two are the best and quite scary. Denholm Elliott plays a mystery writer who is threatened by a killer straight out of his new novel.

The second stars the great Peter Cushing as a man who becomes obsessed with a wax figure in a shop, with tragic results. (Don't watch these with the lights out!)

The other two are fine as well. Christopher Lee plays a father whose young daughter is quite literally a little witch.

And in the final and funniest story, former Doctor Who Jon Pertwee is the cantankerous star of a vampire film who actually becomes a real bloodsucker thanks to a magical cloak.

What binds the tales together is that all the people were unfortunate enough to reside in the same old mansion.

A real treat and a great Sunday afternoon watch.
