Grizzly (1976)
90 min.
Directed by William Girdler.
With Christopher George, Andrew Prine, Richard Jaeckel, Joan McCall, Joe Dorsey, Charles Kissinger.
A rather critically slighted creature feature from director William Girdler.

An enormous grizzly bear terrorizes the forest parklands picking off stray campers and backpackers...devouring his kills right there on the spot. Or burying them for later snacking.

Will park ranger Kelly (George) be able to track and stop the beast before the bodycount rises?

Surprisingly bloody and with effective gore, supported by beautiful locations and some nice death sequences. Good, downbeat ending.

Kudos to director Girdler (Three on a Meathook) for his realistic choice to have the titular beast severely maim a small child.

Known also by the evocative Claws as well as Killer Grizzly.
