Prior to crafting 1974's gritty (and excellent) Frightmare, director Walker helmed this salty seaside slasher that contains a few moments of fun pep.
A group of young actors gather at the old abandoned Dome Theatre to rehearse the "Flesh & Blood Show."
But soon, a dark-gloved figure begins menacing the unsuspecting thespians.
Could the stalker be some sort of wayward presence from the theatre's past?
Several nice touches, including the killer's nighttime attack on Carol: his breathy, crawling slither to her across benches.
Could have benefitted from a higher bodycount; still, there's a decent flashback explanation of the killer's motivations...and a nice double surprise ending.
Also known as Asylum of the Insane.
