Pleasing Italian horror from director Freda.
Working actor Michael (Patrizi) returns to his mother's estate after a long absence.
Joined by some of his film colleagues, Michael is plagued by a traumatic childhood memory...of murdering his own father!
But Michael has other things to worry about, as someone begins to kill his friends off one by one.
Hodgepodge of incongruous elements never truly fit, but giallo vets Strindberg and Richardson hold the whole enterprise together and patch up the workable ending/revelations. Nice chainsaw beheading.
Also known as Murder Obsession and also The Wailing.
Italian title: L'Ossessione che uccide.
