A muddled Italian thriller.
Wealthy playboy Peter Crane (Rivero) is plagued by recurring nightmares in which he's surrounded by fiendish devil worshippers who presumably compel him to commit acts of murder.
But as actual bodies begin to pile up in the daytime, Peter has an increasingly difficult time separating his terrible night visions from his waking reality.
Police investigator Steffen (from 1972's Crimes of the Black Cat) attempts to discover the identity of the killer, but finds himself one step behind throughout.
Evil Eye tries to inject supernatural elements into its paranoia-tinged mystery, but with ineffectual results.
Rivero is likable enough as the confused acid-wash denim-lovin' lead, but too many subplots and no clear resolutions make this one a hard sell. Does benefit from some attractive players and another good score by Stelvio Cipriani, but otherwise this is only for Italian gialli lovers.
Also known as Eroticofollia.
