Sinewy, bloody Canadian gem.
Horror novelist/screenwriter Steven Lessey (Young) has both marital problems at home and trouble completing his latest film play.
But when a deadly accident occurs after his own children attempt to act out a scene from one of his books, Steven finds himself treading a thin line between his broken reality and terror fantasy.
An original premise is given intriguing life here, underscored by good performances (most notably Young) and some nice dollops of gore (usually via interpolated scenes from Steven's horror films). The downbeat ending is an admirable choice.
Look for Hinds (from The Brood) in a tragic role.
Quite good.
