Too implausible to be a heavy contender, this okay thriller still has the power of McDowall as villain and the sorta/kinda talented Steenburgen playing 45 different characters.
Okay, she only plays 3 different characters.
But after sitting through all the plot winds and twists interminably, you won't remember anyhow.
The plot concerns an actress who thinks she's gotten the lead in a horror film, but instead has become involved in a blackmailing/inheritance thing. See Scalpel (1976) or Lies (1983) and you'll get the same idea, to varying effects.
This is a good lazy Sunday afternoon watch...preferably when it's snowing outside. Just don't expect a classic.
