After archaeologist Jason (Cord) unearths an ancient Etruscan burial cave, someone begins brutally murdering those around him...mirroring the events depicted on the relief paintings found on the tomb walls.
Could the killer be a hotheaded, jealous ridden conductor (Marley)? Or is Jason's alcoholic blackouts to blame for the crimes? Worse yet is the possibility the murders are the work of something from beyond the dead.
Lovely scream queen Eggar co stars in this well paced giallo mystery from the director of 1977's Autopsy. Benefits from some nice bludgeoning (via a bloody excavation probe!) and another good score by Ortolani.
Plot is just a wee bit draggy here and there, but on the whole recommended.
