Call this one of our guilty pleasures.
Advanced security robots (killbots) in a shopping center begin to malfunction and embark on a brutal killing spree.
Victims include a group of young people spending the night in the mall (of course).
Chopping Mall is a minor joyride, but it actually manages to really keep your attention throughout. It doesn't take itself too seriously, so it's worth a watch with it's great special effects and over-the-top sequences.
All in all, not a bad endeavor for so late an entry in the '80s slasher pantheon. Horror buffs know well enough there's much worse out there...
