Blacula (1972)
92 min.
Directed by William Crain.
With William Marshall, Vonetta McGee, Denise Nicholas, Thalmus Rasulala, Gordon Pinsent, Charles Macaulay.
Dark skinned African Prince Mamuwalde is bitten by infamous Count Dracula, only to be revived centuries later in modern-day L.A., where he finds lots of food...and a spitting image of his lost beloved queen (McGee).

Marshall is superb as the titular vampire in this above average blaxploitation horror. Nice bits of humor don't overwhelm the film's conventional structure and tone.

Followed by 1973's Scream, Blacula, Scream.
